Frequent Disconnections:

  1. When do the disconnects occur?

Only in OE/Mail All the time Only when idle
  1. Uncheck “hang up after sending and receiving”

  2. Remove any extra mail accounts that are not being used.

  3. All remaining mail accounts have the connection set as “any available.”

  1. Find the user’s connection speed.
  2. Identify the modem and chipset.
  3. Limit the speed accordingly. DRY TEST.
  4. Remove any splitters and surge protectors on the line; also have the user replace the line from the modem to the wall jack.
  5. Have user update their modem driver (OEM supported).
  6. Refer user to telco for line test.

  2. Disable the auto-disconnect prompt
