This is almost always going to be seen in WinXp. Its a simple Username and Password issue. NO REBOOT NEEDED

  1. Verify and reenter the username and password.
  2. Make sure the user is using @domain.com if in a POP that requires it.
  3. Change the password in the account information.
  4. Attempt to connect to the affected POP with the user's credentials.
  5. Escalate or deactivate and reactive the account..

Modem Help's Version (Don't waste time rebooting...)

1. Reboot.

2. Make sure that no other programs are using your modem. Fax software, Supervoice, etc...

3. Ctrl-Alt-Delete, if you see RNAAPP, kill it!
